About Us

Our Commitment

SPS Plastics, is a subsidiary of SirNaik. SPS Plastics was the first company established within the Sirnaik group in 1987, in the basement of Dr. Saurbah Naik's house. The business was founded on the concept of the purchasing and selling of post-industrial recycled plastics on the open market both domestically and abroad. During the past 27 years, SPS has molded itself into a service organization to plastics producers and molders alike, while adopting the ideas of “No landfill guarantees” and “Closed Loop Recycling”. Our “Total Plastic Solutions” can be molded to meet the needs each Customer to ensure that we provide the best value monetarily while driving down the organizational carbon footprint. Staying true to our original building blocks, SPS accrues a good amount of high end feedstock, as well as commodity goods, that are sold both domestically and abroad. Our processing ranges from, Grinding, Optical Pellet Sorting, Toll Processing, storage, and many other services. SPS's philosophy is that no company is too large or too small for implementing a total recycling package, and we hope that at the end of the day, we have made

“Going Green is more than just a color”.

Our CEO

The President of SPS Plastics, Dr. Saurabh Naik, received his first Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and his second Bachelor's Degree in Plastics Technology from the University Department of Technology in Mumbai, India. He received his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York.

His love for polymer chemistry prompted him to return to school at the University of Massachusetts to study for and receive a Ph.D. in a joint Polymer Chemistry Plastics Engineering program. His research topic was based on the study of aspect ratio of different fillers such as glass fiber, mica, wollastonite, calcium carbonate, etc., in various polymer mediums.

He then joined Martin Marietta Chemicals as their Technical manager to develop a market for mica as a reinforcing filler in plastics, with the main focus being the automotive parts industry. During his three years at Martin Marietta Chemicals, he helped actively develop several formulations in polypropylene, nylon and PBT using flexural modulus and low warpage as key marketing points.

From Martin Marietta, he moved on to the Nevamar Corporation as Technical manager to assist in the development of a kitchen countertop product based on unsaturated polyester and aluminum trihydrate.

In 1987, he became aware of a number of possibilities in the plastic recycling business, which at that time was still in its infant stages. Dr. Saurabh Naik has always placed a great deal of emphasis on bringing TECHNICAL manpower into the SirNaik team. He foresees a potential for future growth of the company in "difficult to deal with" products such as adhesives, printing ink, polymer emulsions, thermoset resins, solvents, pigments and many other products.
